2024 Summit Themes & Resources

2024 Summit Policy Themes by Jon Broyles, CEO

  • Making care for those with serious illness easier to navigate, provide, and fund remains on a strong bipartisan foundation.
  • Good work continues to spread across a growing number of states. We need to make sure that there are uniform  standards of care for those facing serious illness in Medicaid and those dually eligible for Medicare – and that this carries over to our continued work with Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
  • Support for unpaid caregivers continues to grow and, thankfully, also remains a strong bipartisan issue. We’re working to build off of what’s working in Medicaid and new efforts such as the GUIDE demonstration to ensure these interventions are more broadly available and sustainable.
  • There are big opportunities on the table in Washington to improve longstanding programs such as the Hospice Medicare benefit, as well as emerging opportunities to expand on the newer demonstrations such as the ACO REACH High Needs track.
  • We shared many powerful stories at the Summit. We are working to put these together with powerful policy ideas.
