Respecting Choices Joins WiserCare

Expanding Reach and Access to Personalized Patient Decision Support and Advance Care Planning

The delivery of care has evolved over the thirty years since Respecting Choices’ inception, but the evidence-based foundation of our programs remains as relevant as ever. Originally created by the Gundersen Medical Foundation, Respecting Choices’ programs help clinicians build the skills to align care with what matters most when decisions are made, and help individuals prepare to make medical decisions. Embracing the principle of “freedom within a framework” has enabled us to adapt our implementation models to meet the unique needs of each of our customers and their settings.

In this spirit of adapting to and growing with change, we are pleased to announce that Respecting Choices has joined WiserCare as of September 8th! WiserCare is a pioneer in digital patient decision support and advance care planning (ACP) experiences, with a focus on helping customers deliver personalized care, and proven results showing high patient, family, and provider satisfaction and positive impacts on the quality and value of care delivery.

By joining WiserCare, Respecting Choices is adopting another innovative strategy to help health systems, health plans, and communities provide ACP services more efficiently. The integrated organization will continue to offer WiserCare’s portfolio of clinically integrated patient decision support modules, as well as Respecting Choices’ full-spectrum of best-in-class interprofessional training, implementation, and capacity building services.

This development grew out of our four-year partnership creating integrated solutions for ACP, including the creation of a Respecting Choices-compatible WiserCare digital experience. During this time, we have learned that we are very aligned in our dedication, philosophy, and approach to person-centered decision making, making us great partners for future growth.
