Policy Advocacy

We are representing patients – and our members serving them – every day in Washington to make sure that all Americans with serious illness get high-quality care.

By creating policies, releasing new resources and tools, and working with similar organizations, we push for changes with government leaders and lawmakers.

Together with the Coalition, we have made progress on important issues in serious illness.

But there is still much more to do.  We need your help.

What we advocate for depends on your insights on what is working today in supporting patients and families. Our role is to rally the Coalition and educate policy makers around high quality care models – so that everyone has access to good care.

C-TAC has developed the Core Principles for Care Models for Those with Serious Illness to provide clear guideposts that can be used to evaluate payment and care models. These Principles align with the evidence-based 4th edition of the National Consensus Project Clinical Practice Guidelines and CMMI’s new strategy to transform health systems.
