Marian Grant Pens New Article on Effect of COVID-19 on Health Care Workers

In order to support people with serious illness during the COVID-19 pandemic, we must support those who care for them.

In a new blog post, written for the Petrie-Flom Center at Harvard Law School, C-TAC Senior Regulatory Advisor Marian Grant, DNP, ACNP-BC, ACHPN, FPCN, RN describes the trauma experienced by health care providers on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

From working extra shifts and losing patients more frequently to helping families navigate remote visitation, health care workers have been physically and emotionally exhausted by this crisis.

“This suffering that clinicians have experienced, especially for those in the hardest-hit group — health care providers for people with serious illness — must be addressed,” writes Grant.

In her post, she offers specific policy changes that could help ease the burden on our health care workforce and offer much-needed relief for providers. For more information, click on the button below to read about these policy changes on the Petrie-Flom Center website.
