Hello, I am Shiva Priya Bodduluri, a graduate student in Public Health majoring in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Boston University. I believe that policy is crucial, and data is the key to understanding how to organize health systems and make informed decisions.
Being a first-generation grad, it’s not easy to navigate the systems but I was always intrigued by pharmacy like understanding how drugs affect our body and how the body affects the drugs. Eventually, I understood how complex a healthcare system is with scarce resources making it expensive, and less accessible. This led me to pursue a graduate degree in public health adding a new lens on visualizing healthcare data through analytical skills.
Having said that, policies provide valuable insights into the decision-making process and the delivery of healthcare. As a policy intern at C-TAC, I am thrilled to work toward empowering individuals with serious illnesses and advocating policies that ensure healthcare equity, access, and affordability. Finally, I am looking forward to deepening my knowledge of the healthcare system and the innovative ways to improve public health.
