Intern Spotlight – Jacob Briscoe

CTAC + Oct 17, 2022

Hello, I am Jacob Briscoe, a graduate student in Public Health majoring in Health Policy at The George Washington University. I believe that health care policy is crucial, and standardized data is the key to understanding how to organize health systems to allow policymakers and patients informed decisions.

Navigating the U.S. healthcare system is a challenge in and of itself, with multiple different areas impacting how healthcare can be delivered to individuals that need it. Understanding the challenges surrounding health policy is something that I am very intrigued by and hope to be able to further explore to create policy solutions. Pursuing my MPH in Health Policy has allowed me to be able to expand my understanding of the regulations that govern health care in the U.S.

With this, health policies provide valuable insights into the regulations and the delivery of healthcare. As a strategy, communications, and marketing intern at C-TAC, I am thrilled to work toward empowering individuals with serious illnesses, the organizations that support them, and advocate for policies that ensure healthcare equity, access, and affordability. Finally, I am looking forward to furthering my understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and the innovative ways to improve public health.

Thank you for your time and for giving me this opportunity. I am excited to connect with everyone!
