The Illinois Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (IL-HPCO) was founded in 1980 and provides a non-competitive community through support, education, and advocacy to ensure that our collective group of providers move the mission of hospice forward and ensure that as many members of our community have access to the benefit of hospice and palliative care as early in their journey as appropriate.
IL-HPCO works tirelessly to bring our mission “engage, empower, and enable Illinois hospice, palliative care, and end-of-life care organization and their employees through education, advocacy, strategic partnerships, and technical and supportive services” to life. With significant advocacy wins in 2021, we’ve capitalized on our momentum with a strong policy agenda in 2022. Having a Director of Policy and Government Affairs on our team is pivotal. We constantly bring forward regulatory updates to keep our members abreast of current topics.
Our vision is to be the clear choice as an expert partner and resource to Illinois and Midwest providers, consumers, and policymakers seeking excellence, innovation, and sustainability in hospice and palliative care. We joined C-TAC to partner in their advocacy for public policies supporting the C-TAC Core Principles for Care Models in the State of Illinois and nationally and to participate in events that convene experts and stakeholders from across the country who are dedicated to improving the lives of people impacted by serious illness. C-TAC provides IL-HPCO access to thoughtful leadership, innovative resources, and member events, and in turn, we are committed to doing our part to achieve the Moonshot Goal-12 million people experiencing serious illness will have a high quality of life by 2030.
