The C-TAC National Leadership Summit hosted a sneak preview of the new Bradley Cooper/PBS “Caregiving” documentary set to launch in early 2025. C-TAC, along with other leading national organizations, foundations, and companies working on caregiver issues, is a partner in this project. The film, which focuses on the state and stakes of providing care in America, shares the stories of family caregivers across the country, including Bradley Cooper, the film’s executive producer, who speaks in depth about caring for his father.
“When my father was diagnosed with cancer, that was a wake-up call for me, one that really opened my eyes to the world of caregiving,” remarked Bradley Cooper, actor, producer, director, and caregiver. “Everyone will end up caring for a loved one at some point in their life. The level of loneliness can overcome an individual going through this – it’s overwhelming. Raising this conversation on a national level will help, and together, I believe we can make a difference. I’m extremely proud to produce this documentary. Together, we can help raise the banner for caregivers.”
The Caregiving Project will tell the story of caregiving through lived experience, expert opinions, thought leaders, practitioners, and loved ones. From coping with basic medical care, housing, nutrition, and transportation to seeking resources, dealing with family dynamics, mental health, work productivity, and long-term financial planning, the solutions are complicated and multi-faceted.
