Grassroots Mobilization

State coalitions are essential to our federal advocacy work. Their statewide and community-based efforts strengthen and complement the policy advocacy work we do on the national level.

While these coalitions can come in various forms and are composed of diverse stakeholder groups, they all share the same mission: improving serious illness and end-of-life care in their state. Some have been around for years with a full staff and funding sources. Others are in start-up mode with a small but mighty team bootstrapping their efforts.

In order to support state and community-level leaders engaged in advancing serious-illness policy and program implementation, we have created a workgroup for these state coalitions. We’ve created a monthly space for leaders to share resources, challenges, best practices, wins, and losses. They are also structured to foster peer-to-peer relationships that encourage collaborations across states and communities.

As a convener, C-TAC’s role is to drive a shared national agenda of improving the lives of those with serious illnesses.
