Chris Thompson

Director of Development, Reimagine

Christopher is the Director of Development for Reimagine. He has over 20 years of leadership experience through various roles within the non-profit sector. Prior to Reimagine, he was a business development consultant, specializing in leadership training, capacity building, fundraising, and strategic planning for various non-profit organizations. In addition, he holds a proven track record of leading a number of performance improvement and accelerated transformation projects.

He is passionate about social impact and has worked with both US-based and international organizations–  in Africa, he developed corporate partnerships with GE, HP Inc, Scholastic, and Google, which resulted in over $2M in funding for a children’s literacy initiative during the height of the 2020 pandemic. In New York, his work with the interfaith community resulted in the first-ever 7-figure capital campaign to develop mandated DEI training initiatives for the NYPD, which served as a model for multiple cities throughout New York State.

Prior to his consultancy, he served as an Executive Director for Community Options Plus, a national nonprofit organization that provides housing and employment services for the developmentally disabled. In response to the disproportionate amount of homelessness among the black and brown population in New York City, Christopher raised $5M to develop permanent individualized living alternatives for nearly 400 people living in the five boroughs with a developmental disability or traumatic brain injury.

Christopher is a Certified FundRaising Executive (CFRE),  holding an undergraduate degree from St. John’s University, and an MBA from MCNY. He is a former Assistant Evangelist for the New York City Church of Christ and now resides in New Jersey, with his beautiful wife and children.
